D. Liebenberg Consulting (Pty) Ltd was established in October 2014 by David Liebenberg.
David has more than 33 years of experience in the Logistics Industry, having worked for Durban Customs and Excise, including completing and passing the then-called “Checking Officers Course” from 1990 to 1996.
He subsequently left Customs and Excise in 1997 and entered into the Private Sector.

Our History
The first company that David worked for was Toyota SA (Pty) Ltd based in Prospecton in Durban, then moving on to work for Turners Shipping.
In 1998, David had a brief opportunity to work outside the Freight Industry but was soon enticed back and took on a role at Fritz Companies (Pty) Ltd in Durban.
David joined Maersk Logistics (Pty) Ltd, a Shipping Line company, in 2001. Looking at growing his experience and scope, he was able to move with Maersk to Johannesburg.
David spent 9.5 years at UTi South Africa (Pty) Ltd in a number of managerial roles. He ultimately achieved the role of Senior Manager: Customs Brokerage and Compliance Africa and Gulf States.
During his time at UTi, David served on the South African Association of Freight Forwarders (SAAFF) Board as Director of Customs. He was also part of the SAAFF Gauteng Ocean Freight Customs Committee.
The opportunity arose for David to open his own business in the Customs Brokerage and Compliance Consulting space. where he shares his knowledge, experience and expertise with a broader market.
Since establishing D. Liebenberg Consulting (Pty) Ltd, David has provided consultancy to numerous companies which include Freight Forwarding companies, Importer and Exporter, etc. He has also guest lectured at the North West University and conducts learnership training with Metro Minds.
